In new Search Console, Google has removed Preferred Domain Setting, previously site owners were allowed to specify which URL to display in Search results

Before we was able to ask google to show our URL in two forms www.example.com or Example.com

We had another option in previous that was Don’t set a Preferred Domain but we don’t have this Preferred Domain configuration option is no more in new Search Console

There is many other ways to signaling Google that version of URL should be display or open the webpage the available options are

Use rel=”cabonical” link tag on HTML pages 
Use rel=”canonical” HTTP header.
Use a sitemap /
Use 301 redirects for retired URLs

But still even without using any of the above technics, Google still do its best way to figure out the canonical URL on by itself
